Staying on pace can be difficult for online learners. Many people have jobs, sports, or other concerns. Not to mention you don't have in person reminders from teachers that deadlines are coming.

Here are a few strategies to get on pace if you are behind.

  • Make a daily schedule that shows what work you need to complete and finish by the end of the day. This is a real schedule of your day that shows what you are doing each hour. If you get a catch-up plan use that as your guide and put a time to each subject. That starts from 9a and goes until 4pm. Make sure to take small breaks and a lunch.

  • Find a place to work that is quite and calm. This can be difficult. Libraries are great places to get online and get working. If you have many siblings in the house talk to your parent about a good place to work.

    • Have all your resources that are needed to complete your school work. Make sure you have all the books and supplies that are required and ready. This can be a real time saver near then end.

  • Setup at reward that you like to have at the end of the week like a movie or time with friends.  Find things that you enjoy and do those on your break.

Also something else that can work is doing one course a day and completing a weeks’ worth of work plus 1-3 additional lessons per week. Many students do this on the day of their lives session days.

Additionally if you are having trouble completing your work another suggestion is to ask your teacher for a tutoring session once a week. These are generally short sessions where you can review information that you may lack the understanding to complete.

These tips will help you be more successful at CALPAC and with online school.
