Benefits of Attending an Online High School in California

There are many benefits of attending an online high school but flexibility has to one of the most significant. Students nowadays have many extracurricular commitments and trying to fit everything into one day can be overwhelming and sometimes not even possible.
Attending CalPac online high school allows students to attend school asynchronously, thus proving the flexibility to accommodate many students’ needs to also fit in other commitments.
Students are required to attend one live hour of online school per day in a Live Session. This allows teachers to speak live to students, to answer students’ questions and to teach and reinforce the topics that will be learned that week. After the one hour, students are allowed to schedule their own hours in which to attend CalPac online school.
Students learn in different ways. Some students require frequent breaks while completing school work and others are able to stay focused for longer periods of time. Some students are wide-awake and ready to learn early in the morning while other students are night-owls and complete their best work later in the day.
Attending CalPac online high school allows students to set up their school day to fit their needs. The benefit of having this flexibility can have a significant effect on student success.
The flexibility of attending an online high school allows students to have it all. In traditional brick and mortar schools, students are often faced with having to pass on an opportunity or skip being involved in an extracurricular activity simple because they don’t have the flexibility that an online school has. CalPac online high school has allowed many students to have it all:
• One of our students didn’t have to give up on her Olympic dream because she couldn’t fit in all of her training hours while attending a traditional school. Because she attended
CalPac online school, she was able to schedule her day to include school and her training hours.
• Another CalPac student, a musician, had the opportunity to travel to Asia and tour with his orchestra. He wasn’t forced to decide whether he could afford to miss a few weeks of school. Because he would have access to the internet, he didn’t have to miss any days of school.
• Another student had a grandparent, who lived out of state, become ill. The student and his mom flew to be with his grandmother and care for her. Even though this student missed two weeks of school, he didn’t fall behind in classes because he was still able to attend school, online.
• Another CalPac student lived with a chronic illness. She didn’t have the energy to physically go to school on some days, making it difficult for her to continue to attend the brick and mortar she had attended for the past year. She enrolled at CalPac and was able to attend school regularly because she was able to break up her school day. She attended online school for a couple of hours and when she needed to, she rested. She was then able to login and resume school when she had the energy to do so later in the day.
Whether the extra time commitment is dances lessons, team practices, doctor appointments, travel opportunities or family needs, the flexibility given at CalPac online high school allows students to fit it all in. Students aren’t forced to have to choose, to give up opportunities or to worry about falling behind in school due to various time commitments.
Students have access to school at all times as long as they are able to connect to the internet. And, for students who may not have extra time commitments but learn better at a certain time of day, do well with frequent breaks, or can benefit from pacing out their day, the flexibility at CalPac online high school will support and meet the needs of these students, as well.
