Getting to Know... Ms. PJ Nuzman
(Provided by CalPac, Friday, September 30, 2016)
CalPac has had the honor of adding a new face to our team this 2016-2017 School Year. She knew from an early age that teaching, tutoring, and education would be a big, important part of her life, and we're so happy it is.
Get to know CalPac's newest High School Math Teacher,Ms. PJ Nuzman.

Where are you from? If not from California, what brought you here & when?
Let's just say Orange County but well traveled. I frequently had/have extended stays in Washington, Montana, Utah, Ohio, and Hawaii. Anywhere my family and some good hiking can be found.
How long have you been at CalPac?
Just since June 2016. Woo, summer was a blur!
Why teaching?
I was one of those weird little kids who knew at age 4 that I wanted to be a teacher. By age 6, I was tutoring all the older kids at my school and I haven't stopped since.
Favorite thing about online education:
My favorite thing about online is personal because I wish this was a thing when I was in school... It is a great way to connect in a comfortable and safe space. There is so much to offer!!
When not teaching/working, favorite way to spend time:
I knit while watching movies, or I go hiking/kayaking. White water kayaking is my favorite but rivers with good turbulence are pretty far from here so I just go down by the beach with some friends. Hiking is my second favorite and I keep looking for higher and longer trails but I also have my local go to spots every weekend. Knitting and movies get me through the week when I can't get out as much.
Inspired by:
Joss Whedon, nuff said.
Favorite quote(s): "Everything I've ever cared about, everything I've worked for...has all been preparation for a future that no longer exists." (The Day After Tomorrow)
Best advice you've ever received:
Stay in the moment. Baby steps. One stitch at a time, one step at a time, one problem at a time.
Best/Worst advice:
"Go Big or Go Home" - Not everything has to be big and sometimes it's ok to go home. Knowing your limits is just as important!
A BIG thanks to Ms. Nuzman for helping us all get to know her better. We look forward to a great school year ahead!
