How to ACE your Final Exams

Finals are just around the corner and your teachers have probably started giving you information about them. Don't worry we've got you covered. It may take some work, but if you follow these tips you'll be sure to ace your exams.

Take Advantage of the System

Believe it or not your teachers want you to succeed. They've probably given you many resources to study from so take advantage of that. Make sure you attend all review sessions that are held by your content teachers. Your teachers at CALPAC will be holding live sessions where they will review all of the first semester material in their course in their tutoring hours. So look out for their emails and make sure you know where and when to participate in these sessions.

Quick tip: Best way to look for teacher’s tutoring hours is the LIVE SESSION/OFFICE hour calendar so please refer to it! This will be extremely beneficial for you because it will help you to recall all the important information you need to know for your final exams.

Look out for additional review materials that your teachers send out via email or in your live sessions. For example, in world history course, there are review sheets sent out that have key terms, ideas/concepts, dates, and events that the students need to recall for the test. Take advantage of these activities! It will help you tremendously.

If you like to find some ways to study on your own and need guidance on how to do so, don't worry! There are plenty of ways to do so! In your courses, you can review all your notes, go back and watch your direct instruction lectures, and review all vocabulary. Not only you can review materials in your courses, you also can go back and watch your live session recordings and review powerpoints.

Quick tip: Find other classmates to study with. They may shed some light on how to study more effectively or explain concepts you didn't know previously.

Ask Questions

Don’t be shy in asking your teachers for help! Your teachers at CALPAC are eager to help you when you have questions about your courses. Do not hesitate! We are here for you! So, if you do the following that I listed above along with attending review sessions, you are going to be in great shape for your final exams!

No more procrastinating!

If you really want to concentrate and study hard for your final exams, make sure you are not distracted. What I mean by this is, you need to find a place where you can dedicate your time in studying without wasting your precious time. Time is ticking and final exams are just around the corner.

Quick tip: Less procrastinating = more sleep!

Try to discipline yourself to get your studying done without snap-chatting your friends or playing games online. Yes, I know, being an online student is difficult sometimes. But it’s crunch time and with final exams just around the corner, you need to remind yourself to focus on the task at hand.
