Increase Your Chances of Success with Your Education

Many students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 plans always ask at the end of the semester what they can do to be successful.
Although I commend these students for wanting to achieve academically, it hinders their ability to do well in the virtual environment when they wait to ask for help. The most important part of online learning is communication with your assigned Program Specialist.
In the very beginning of the school year, or when you first enroll, a welcome letter is sent to you filled with tons of information about the school and the role of your Program Specialist. Of course this can be intimidating. That is why it is crucial for you to respond right away.
I strongly recommended writing an email, sending an instant message, or calling to introduce yourself. Building a solid rapport with your Program Specialist will be one of the best moves you can make in California Pacific Charter Schools’ virtual program. With the guidance and support of your Program Specialist, you can almost guarantee a successful school year (or semester).
Another key component of CalPac’s educational placement is participating in your live sessions and communicating with your content teachers and peers. The weekly dialogue that takes place inside of the elluminate sessions is priceless. These weekly sessions are designed specifically to address your questions about the curriculum.
Moreover, the live sessions are geared towards reviewing and re-teaching concepts that you may not have completely grasped while working within the e2020 courses. Do not wait until you are behind, failing, or are ready to give up. The staff and teachers who work for CalPac are tremendously generous with their time and want to help. CalPac is more than a school, we are a family.
Lastly, you must login ladies and gentlemen of the Special Education Department. If you do not login and make an effort to complete work then you are definitely setting yourself up for a dismal outcome. Daily logins during the work days is essential and required.
You must spend a minimum of an hour per class (and 4-5 in one class if credit recovery) each school day. Completing quizzes/tests and filling out your learning log are daily activities. If you can follow these simple requirements, success isc right at your fingertips.
As the Special Education Coordinator and staff member for 4 schools years, I can tell you that the most successful students with IEPs and 504 plans actively work with their assigned Program Specialist, attended live sessions and/or communicated with their content teachers, and logged in daily. If you don’t believe me, try it. Let’s see what happens. Good luck!
