Online Clubs for Online Kids!

At CALPAC, we believe that online students should have an opportunity to participate in typical school activities that you might find in your localmiddle school or high school. We encourage students to get to know one another and to get to know our teachers and faculty. CALPAC’sonline community is truly unique, and one in which students can find lasting friendships.
Recently, CALPAC hosted a virtual club fair, where students were able to review the clubs that are available at our school. Students can choose the club that suits their interest. Students are not limited to participating in just one club. We encourage students to join as many clubs as they have time for. Clubs can only serve to enrich the online school experience. Clubs are important for many reasons. In addition to the camaraderie that students feel with their classmates when they participate, students can benefit in other ways from joining clubs. Participating in a club looks great on a resume or college application. Colleges like to see that students are well rounded, and have participated in activities outside of academic achievement.
Joining a club can showcase your interests, as well as a commitment to a weekly or monthly activity. As students juggle their extra curricular activities and their academics, it shows colleges and future employers that you have good time management skills.
In addition to participating in clubs, it goes one step further to be a leader in your online club. Act as president or secretary, and you can have an opportunity to show leadership and build character in ways that are also beneficial for college and a career. Telling about a leadership role in youronline school club in a college essay or in a job interview could be the deciding factor with the selection committee of either one.
