Science Can be Fun? Who Would of Thought...

Science can be fun? That depends if you have to learn it or if you enjoy learning about things. There is a difference. As an online school in California we can learn in many different ways. One of those can be fun when we explore fun facts. For instance:
- 1 million Earths will fill up the Sun
- 1 million M&Ms will fill up a glass fish bowl about 3 feet in diameter
- You can get an idea of the size of Earth compared to the Sun with the M&Ms
- 1 million inches equals 83,333 feet which is 15.7 miles
- 1 million feet equals 189 miles
- 1 million ounces equals 62,500 lbs. which is 31.25 tons (one ton is 2000 lbs.)
- 1 million miles is covered in 5.38 seconds at the speed of light
- 1 million gummy bears put head to toe would be 790,000 inches or 12.5 miles long
- 1 million miles is 40.1 times around the Earth at the equator
- 1 million lbs. is equal to about 5,635 U.S. adults
- 1 million sheets of copy paper is 3,200 inches tall or 266.6 feet tall
- 1 million hours is equal to 41,667 days or 114 years
How many other things that relate to one million can you add to this list? Start adding to this list. Can we make the longest list of “one million things” and get into the Guinness Book of Records? We can virtually build this together in this blog.
One more thought: Here is a question from comedian Steven Wright, “If you are traveling at the speed of light and turn on the lights, what do you see”? This is a physics question, have any answers?
