Taking Charge of Your Virtual Attendance
(Provided by CalPac, Wednesday, October 17, 2012)
At CalPac, you are in a unique situation where you do not attend school like other students. In a distance learning environment, attendance in school is still very important but it is not collected the same. To be successful in online learning, it is crucial that you attend school Monday-Friday. Here are some types for keeping track on your online attendance:
- You will receive a new learning log every four weeks from your homeroom teacher. As soon as you get your new log, save it to your desktop and keep it there! Keeping your log on your desktop will remind you to use it.
- Fill out your learning log at the end of each day with the activities you completed. You should include both online and offline activities. Live sessions definitely count, so make sure you are writing those down.
- Submit your learning log to your homeroom teacher each Friday. This helps you because your teacher can check your progress and make sure you are on track.
Your learning log is more than just a way to track your online attendance. It is also a great way for you, your parents, and your teachers to track your education progress. Your goal should be to have something written in your learning log for each day of the week. It is vital to your online learning success that you are completing assignments each day, and the learning log is a great way to see if you are achieving this goal.
Remember, complete your learning log each day and submit it to your homeroom teacher every Friday!!! You can be successful in distance learning, and your learning log will help you get there!
